EOL – Windows 10

NC State University Office of Information Technology has issued an End Of Life (EOL) of Windows 10 to be October 25, 2025. More information available at this link.

College of Sciences IT is trying to have most of the Windows 10 migration completed prior to July 1, 2025.

Sciences iT is starting to examine inventory and network reports to see which computers do not meet the hardware requirements for Windows 11. We will be reaching out to individuals and groups suggesting computer upgrades.

If you have the ability to upgrade your computer to Windows 11 via Software Center or Windows Update. We encourage you to click the upgrade button. However please backup any local files to a network or external drive prior to doing so.

If you do not have the upgrade option via Software Center or Windows Update, however you believer you computer meets the hardware requirements, then schedule a consultation. help@sciences.ncsu.edu

Some computers will need to be backed up, erased, and reloaded from scratch due to some hardware settings not being properly set to meet the Windows 11 requirements.
